The Local Taphouse
Steve Jeffares & Guy Greenstone founded the successful 'Local Taphouse' in St Kilda, Melbourne and in Darlinghurst, Sydney. Arch Media Solutions were commissioned to provide design and documentation for the Development Application of the Sydney Taphouse. This beer house features a terrace beer garden, fully operable bocce court, live entertainment and eclectic interior design.http://www.thelocal.com.au/
Excelsior House
A modest extension and an additional level, this Victorian style Bungalow (check style) with its simplistic extension reflects the young clients modern outlook. Timber battens filter light, which maximise privacy into the living areas. The simple clean lines of the rear addition are then capped by a mansard style attic roof which is not visible from the street, retaining the original streetscape character and design intent.
McDonald House
This Victorian style terrace has an abundance of character, which was to be maintained and revitalised. Situated amongst two adjoining dwellings, the challenge for this little terrace was always to achieve the optimisation of light. This challenge created the opportunity to introduce an internal light well to the master bedroom and bathroom. Coupled with the proposal of a new skillion roof to maximise light spill into the living and kitchen quarters creating a bright and ambient space.
The Gipps House
The design brief from the outset incorporated integration and interplay between old and new contemporary and traditional. Taking advantage of its natural aspect this successful addition to the rear of the dwelling creates spaces flooded with light which spill out ambiguously to the backyard.
The Boulevard
Overlooking beautiful Kogarah Bay, this large residential dwelling is perfectly situated with views and space of abundance. The play of external finishes divides and accentuates the horizontal lines of the building, detracting from the modest scale of the structure.
Sir Leslie Wilkinson, Double Bay
Two storey house built in 1936 for Mr G Beresford Grant and designed by Sir Leslie Wilkinson. Arch Media Solution was commissioned to draw the existing conditions of this beautiful heritage listed property.
